We need to put more emphasis on regulating the air quality not only in Beijing, but the entire world. At our current rate of air pollution, China, which has the largest population in the world, will become uninhabitable. These people will have to migrate to other locations and nations, dramatically increasing the population density of nearby countries such as India, which is the second largest country in the world. The polluted air affects other animals besides humans too; the particulate matter may bioaccumulate in birds as they eat insects. It also may just normally accumulate in bodies of water, causing higher turbidity within the water and thus blocking out the sunlight that organisms require to survive in lower depths of the water.
